COMMISSIONS
COMMISSIONS
Lexie does accept commissions on a limited basis. The main subjects of her commissions are pets, families, landscapes, and sonograms.
You will be asked to sign a commission contract. Here are some of the potential stipulations in the contract (may vary according to subject):
I will give Lexie Austin permission to use my photo as a reference tool.
Lexie will list the watercolors and the paper to be used in the commission. The watercolors and pigments used will have excellent Lightfastness ratings (should last 50+ years). However, I understand that watercolors in general may fade with time especially when placed in direct exposure to sunlight. I will keep my painting away from the sun as much as possible.
I pay a non-refundable 50% as a deposit through Paypal/Venmo/Etsy. Lexie begins work on my painting in 24 hours after receiving the deposit.
Lexie will complete my painting within 14 days. She will send progress updates along the way. She will send me a final picture for approval (may be completed before the end of the 14 days). I can give feedback but understand that due to the nature of watercolor as a medium changes may be impossible. Once my final approval is given, I will pay the remaining 50% through Paypal/Venmo/Etsy. Once this is received, Lexie will mail/drop off my finished piece.
I understand that handmade art is an ever evolving process and my portrait may look different than I expect. I can request changes, but due to the nature of watercolor it may not be possible.
I understand that while I own my portrait and can take pictures of it, all copyrights and ownership of the artwork images are retained by Lexie Austin Art. A digital image of this work may be used in marketing, social media, product development & sales, etc by Lexie Austin Art. I may not sell or use my portrait commercially.
I may post my digital image to social media and will tag Lexie Austin Art in my posts.
